"Sometimes everything falls into place just right,
and a house becomes a new favorite place."
That's how it was with us and our pilot quarters. The story began in 2020, when Karl-Jörg and Sabine came across the house on Lotsenweg – with three vacation apartments for sale. For Karl, a passionate surfer who has known the island for years, the decision was made quickly. Together with his brother Stephan, they purchased two of the apartments. Sabine and Karl-Jörg enthusiastically told their friends Nicole and Friso about their discovery. Although the two hadn't known Fehmarn at all before, they were curious and immediately headed to the island. One visit was enough, and so the third apartment was also purchased.

The name came about – like all the best ideas – in a relaxed atmosphere over a glass of wine. The street, Lotsenweg, inspired us, and it soon became clear: Lotsenquartiere was a perfect fit. And because each apartment was meant to be its own little home with its own personal style, each one was given an individual name: The attic apartment became "Lotsenbude," Karl-Jörg and Sabine's apartment became "Lotsenkoje," and Stephan's apartment became "Lotsenglück."

A year later, our pilot quarters grew again. In 2022, a fourth apartment became available in the building, and Anika and Hendrik, another couple who were friends with us, quickly joined the project. They took the opportunity and designed the apartment as the "pilot deck"—now the largest of the four pilot quarters.

Because personal contact with our guests is particularly important to us, we also handle all marketing and booking processes ourselves. Nicole is the contact person for all guests – from the initial inquiry to checkout. And since we are not on-site, our dedicated team on Fehmarn takes care of cleaning, gardening, and all other handyman work to ensure our guests feel completely at home at all times.
Feel free to come by and see for yourself :-)
